Lifting each other up
Networking in lockdown over the last 2 months has taken a whole new meaning as our ‘new normal’ has moved to online webinars, virtual hangouts, and communities over slack. We have been left having to forge connections and authentic conversations without real-life interactions. Networking may be under lockdown, but it is very much still open for business.
And for those of us looking for jobs and new projects, the majority of our days are now spent connecting, networking and starting conversations with strangers. Whilst the true value of real-life experiences and encounters cannot be replaced online, the kindness and support from strangers and new-found connections has been both surprising and heartening. A simple ‘well done’, ‘good job’, and ‘keep going’ can often be the difference between a great and terrible day.
Since lockdown begun, I have been doing my best to shout out businesses, brands, and communities who are sharing inspiring and engaging content, supporting their customers, and helping people stay positive in these testing times. It is not easy to stay resilient, proactive, or productive, day in day out, but it helps when we open up to each other, support one other, and lift each other up.
So the next time you see someone put themselves out there, share content, their opinion, or a project they have been working on, give them a thumbs up, a like, a message of congratulations, do your bit to show them some kindness.
Perhaps the article below is the world sending me a small token of appreciation, as I try to put some positivity out to the world.
So thank you, Alexandra Lunn Studio in East London who came across my website and featured me in their business section, promoting my freelance services through COVID-19.
